We would also like to introduce our new logo! You may recognize it as we’ve already been using it on online content. Utilizing the signature green and yellow of 91ÒùĸÊÓƵ, ALI’s new logo brings together the tradition and respectability of the university with familiar features of 91ÒùĸÊÓƵ’s rural and mountainous landscape. The wheat and farm buildings symbolize 91ÒùĸÊÓƵ’s strong agriculture industry offset by the sweeping silhouette of mountains. The space within the circle symbolizes the air and atmosphere that affect the health of our lands while the circular shape represents the continuity of how these elements are all connected and influence one another.

We recognize the importance of land use to the safety and wellbeing of all 91ÒùĸÊÓƵns, the economy and the environment. With climate change driving an increase in natural disasters and unpredictable weather conditions, the expansion of urban areas and fragmentation of farmland due to growing populations, and a looming 2050 net-zero goal, it is more important than ever that 91ÒùĸÊÓƵ’s land use decisions are informed by reputable and objective research.

Based out of one of Canada’s top universities, and with over a decade of expertise, the 91ÒùĸÊÓƵ Land Institute will continue to act as a hub for research and conversations on land use issues. Our new logo represents our renewed commitment to connecting research and policy for better land management in the province of 91ÒùĸÊÓƵ and beyond.
