English Conversation Club
The English Conversation Club (ECC) is a welcoming space for all students to practice conversational English, meet new people, and learn about different cultures.
Immigration Webinars
Learn about immigration matters that pertain to international students, including compliance with Study Permit conditions, working in Canada, the visa process, and so on.
Get Involved
Volunteer to support international students and become part of a welcoming community that extends beyond the campus, into the city of Edmonton, and the wider Canadian community.
PARTICIPATE IN THE 2025 INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SURVEY AND SHARE YOUR FEEDBACK
The International Student Survey is an opportunity to provide meaningful feedback about your educational experience. Don’t miss your chance to win $1,000 and share your feedback on your international student experience. U of A international students who do not win a prize from CBIE and have provided their contact info at the end of the survey will be entered into a random draw. Two undergraduate participants and two graduate participants will win a $100 cash prize (4 prizes in total).
Complete the survey before November 26th to be entered into the draw.

Mature students (21+): Free nutrition and healthy living course I Oct.15-Nov. 5
Wednesday evenings from Oct.15-Nov. 5 | 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. MT | 2-36 Agriculture-Forestry Teaching Kitchen, North Campus
Upgrade your healthy living skills with this four-week course. Connect with others over cooking classes and workshops from the University Health Centre, Campus Recreation and the Campus Food Bank. Presented by the Change Health Community Program (CHCP).
Financial Literacy Workshops
Learn about banking, budgeting, credit scores, fraud prevention, and smart investing through engaging online and in-person sessions. These workshops are designed to help you make informed financial decisions and set yourself up for success.
Wellness Check-ins
Relax, de-stress, and connect with support programs. Recharge with Unwind Your Mind activities, join Wellness Wednesdays for games, tea, and good conversation, or step outside for city excursions and outdoor recreation. However you choose to participate, you’ll find a welcoming space to de-stress and take care of yourself.
Intercultural Events
Connect with a diverse community while exploring new cultures. Attend fun and interactive sessions like outdoor survival workshops, multicultural potlucks, Indigenous education events, and celebrations of global and Canadian traditions. These events are a great way to meet new people and learn about different cultures.
