Permanently removing museum objects or collections of museum objects from the 91ÒùĸÊÓƵ (U91ÒùĸÊÓƵ) Museums without a formal disposition (or deaccession) process is not allowed. Museum object disposition must be carefully considered and is governed by the 91ÒùĸÊÓƵ Museums and Collections Policy.

Museums and Collections Services (MACS) manages all museum object dispositions as they require approval from the U91ÒùĸÊÓƵ Museums Policy and Planning Committee and the Board of Governors.

To submit an object disposition request:

1. Review Deaccession and Disposition of Museum Objects and Collections Procedure and Deaccession and Disposition of Museum Objects and Collections Procedure Criteria (Appendix A).
2. Email the following form and supporting documentation to MACS.
