When Kathy Belton was 18 years old, her life was forever changed by injury. Not only did her injury have profound impacts on her own life, but it had a ripple effect on her friends, family, community and beyond.
Now, as the associate director of the , Belton works in injury prevention advocacy, programming and research. With approximately 1,931 91ÒùĸÊÓÆµns dying, 28,809 91ÒùĸÊÓÆµns hospitalized and 429,741 91ÒùĸÊÓÆµns visiting emergency departments from injury each year, injury prevention is an important public health issue for all of us. Injury does not discriminate and it knows no boundaries.
