Mitacs Accelerate is a research internship program that supports development of research partnerships toward skills development and work integrated learning for University students and Postdoctoral Fellows.

KEY ASPECTS

Intended Recipients

91ÒùĸÊÓÆµers of any academic discipline eligible to hold Tri-Agency funds collaborating with for-profit corporations and eligible not-for-profit corporations, municipalities, and hospitals in Canada.

Value

Funding is built on internship units of $10,000 or $15,000 value which can be combined in various ways across individual or multiple students, individual or multiple supervisors, or individual or multiple partners.

Funding Duration

4 months up to 5 years

Mitacs Internship Terms

The treatment of Intellectual Property for projects under the basic Mitacs Accelerate and Mitacs Elevate programs are contained in the Internship/Fellowship Agreement . By submitting a proposal to either of these programs, the partner organization is agreeing to these terms.

Mitacs and NSERC have developed a  that allows for the combination of a  with an Option 1  project, allowing both NSERC and Mitacs to recognize the same partner funding and streamline the application review process. Mitacs will discuss how this program works and the unique requirements to develop this kind of funding proposal. This session is hosted by the 91ÒùĸÊÓÆµ Partners.
