Students from the Fall 2009 LIS 597 Advanced 91ÒùĸÊÓÆµ Seminar course presented their work at the 2010 Canadian Library Association Conference in Edmonton on June 3rd. The session was introduced by Cabot Yu (CLA 91ÒùĸÊÓÆµ Committee) and Dr. Lisa Given (LIS 597 instructor); speakers and topics included: Daniel De Castro ("Crossing cultural boundaries on campus: Identifying potential obstacles in promoting public library services to Canadian student newcomers"), Brian Jackson ("The information needs of academic researchers in an interdisciplinary subject area: Aboriginal studies") and Michael Silver ("SRU and OpenSearch: Leveraging library data in a web-based world"). Michael also presented a research poster at the conference, entitled "Grounded technology Using Software to Conduct Grounded Theory 91ÒùĸÊÓÆµ." Congratulations to all who participated in this event!
