Biological Sciences
The Biological Sciences program provides broad and general training in different aspects of biology, while offering students the flexibility to choose advanced courses in specific areas that they find to be of interest. The scope of Biological Sciences extends from single-celled organisms to plants, animals, and fungi, from molecules to ecosystems, and from long-established but still vibrant fields of study such as taxonomy and comparative anatomy to cutting-edge genomics and bioinformatics.
Topics of study in Biological Sciences
Biological Sciences students receive a basic grounding in the diversity, ecology and evolution of life, and in cell biology and genetics. They also have the opportunity to take a wide range of additional courses in various biological and biology-adjacent subdisciplines, including but not limited to biochemistry, botany, immunology, microbiology, pharmacology, and zoology.
