U of A Student, Faculty + Staff Access
Students
Most students pay the Athletics and Recreation Fee with their tuition, and can access the facilities with their ONECard. See all recreational benefits included with the fee. When students are not paying the Athletics and Recreation Fee or are taking time off, costs are listed below.
University Staff + Faculty
U of A faculty and staff receive access to certain facilities — such as the Hanson Fitness & Lifestyle Centre, the Aquatic Centre, and drop-in facilities and activities — as part of their respective collective bargaining agreements. Enter using your ONEcard. See all recreational benefits open to faculty and staff. Note: the Wilson Climbing Centre is NOT included in faculty and staff perks.
U of A staff, faculty, alumni and students must present a valid ONECard at the time of purchase to receive the discounted rate.

Public Rates
Post-doctoral Fellows, students taking a term off, and members of the general public can purchase a membership to visit our facilities on North Campus or South Campus.
North Campus Facilities
Rates below are per person. Includes access to the Van Vliet Complex (VVC) and North Campus outdoor spaces. The Wilson Climbing Centre (WCC) is excluded from all memberships except for U of A students taking a term off.
Memberships for the VVC and the WCC can be purchased at the customer service desk (1-241 VVC).

Wilson Climbing Centre
The Wilson Climbing Centre requires facility-specific belay checks to use our facilities. We are open to all ages. Caution must be exercised when bringing young children into the climbing environment, especially during our busy drop-in times. Please read our guidelines before bringing children with you. You will need to sign a waiver or informed consent form before entering. You can rent or buy equipment.

South Campus Facilities
Includes the fitness centre, indoor track, racquet courts and curling at the Saville Community Sports Centre.
The family rate (except for tennis) consists of two adults and up to four dependents under the age of 18 living at the same address. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Memberships can be purchased at one of the customer service desks.
Drop-In Areas
Access to the fitness centre, drop-in court sports programming (basketball, volleyball and badminton) and the indoor track. Does not include tennis court access.

**The Fitness Express membership will grant membership holders discounted fees with restricted facility access between the hours of 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Monday - Friday.

Guests must be accompanied by a Saville Community Sports Centre Tennis member. The fee for a guest visit is $20.00/hour. Guests are required to sign in and pay their guest fee before entering the court.
***Entrance fees are a one-time fee that is charged when a member joins the tennis club and goes towards upgrades and maintenance of the tennis courts.
Pickleball Drop-in (June-July)
Enjoy single-day access to drop-in pickleball from June - July in the Saville Curling Rink.
