Surgical 91ÒùĸÊÓƵ Retreat

2018 Department of Surgery's Surgical 91ÒùĸÊÓƵ Retreat

This year's Surgical 91ÒùĸÊÓƵ Retreat, held on September 11th 2018, had the goal of determining 'where we are going and how to get there'. This path forward was achieved through presentations and dialogue in working groups. Presentations on the development of many new local support systems for research provided a perspective on the breadth of opportunities and challenges. The current state, and the opportunities for the future, covered clinical research, graduate studies, and clinician scientist trainees. Our invited Guest speaker, Dr. Jareen Meinzen-Derr from Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, gave an interesting talk about 'Leveraging Data for Surgical 91ÒùĸÊÓƵ: 91ÒùĸÊÓƵ in the Right Place in the Right Way' and enriched the discussion with expertise on the use of technology resources and clinical epidemiology.

The presentations, provided below, will help guide the strategic plan for research in the Department of Surgery.
